Mufassal according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

In fiqh: the seventh seventh of the Quran, so named for its many sections; it begins at sura Mouhammad. Said: from al-Fath. Said: from Qaf to the Quran’s end. The mufassal’s longs run to al-Bourouj; its middles to alam nachrah; its shorts to the Quran’s end. In Tahrir Charh al-Wiqaya it is explicit the mufassal runs from the Houjourat to the Quran’s end.

Mufassal according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

With fatha of mim and kasra of sad: singular of mafasil, what is between the members as the fingers, between hand and forearm, forearm and arm. Al-moufassal, with kasra of mim and fatha of sad: the tongue. Ibn ’Abbas said: it is the mouhkam. In ad-Diya’: from sura Mouhammad to the Quran’s end. Al-Qamous cites ten views: from the Houjourat to its end; in al-Asah: or the suras al-Jathiya, al-Qital, Qaf, as-Saffat, as-Saff, Tabarak, al-Fath, al-A’la, ad-Douha; each view attributed to its holder; named mufassal for the many divisions between its suras, or the scarcity of abrogated verses.

Mufassal according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Among the noble Quran’s suras: from the Houjourat sura to the mighty Book’s end. It is the sound, said al-Hafidh Ibn Hadjar. Also called the mouhkam. Al-mounfassil: the severed hadith (see hadith).

Mufassal according to Mu'jam Lughat al-Fuqaha

With fatha of mim and kasra of sad, plural mafasil: the meeting of two bones in the body, allowing their motion. Articulation.
