Definition of Al-Tyh
Al-tîh (bewilderment): one says 'tâha yatîhu' when someone is perplexed and lost. 'Tâha yatûhu' is a dialectal variant.
In the story of the Children of Israel, Allah says: 'They will wander in the land for forty years' (Al-Mâ'ida: 26).
Al-tîh also refers to the desert where one gets lost.
Al-tayyâh is one who frequently goes astray or who is arrogant, because the arrogant one loses the path of truth.
[Allah] said, "Then indeed, it is forbidden to them for forty years [in which] they will wander throughout the land. So do not grieve over the defiantly disobedient people."
