Definition of Btl

At-tabtîl: devoting oneself entirely to Allah by cutting off from everything else.

Allah says: 'And devote yourself (tabattul) to Him completely' (Al-Muzzammil: 8).

Maryam is called 'al-batûl' because she devoted herself to worship.

Inbatala: he was cut off.
