Definition of Jrd
Al-jarâd (locusts): well-known.
Allah says: 'We sent upon them the flood, locusts (al-jarâd), lice' (Al-A'râf: 133).
Locusts were one of the plagues sent against Pharaoh and his people to punish them and urge them to free the Children of Israel.
