Definition of Ḥẓr

Al-hazr: gathering something in an enclosure (hazîra).

Al-mahzûr: the forbidden.

Al-muhtazir: one who makes an enclosure.

Allah says: 'It was like the dry sticks of one who makes an enclosure (al-muhtazir)' (Al-Qamar: 31).

The people of Thamûd were annihilated.
