Definition of Ḥqf

Allah says: 'When he warned his people at Al-Ahqâf' (Al-Ahqâf: 21).

Al-ahqâf: plural of 'hiqf', elongated sand dunes.

This is the territory of the people of 'Âd where prophet Hûd warned them of divine punishment.
