The eagerness of Prophet Muhammad to receive the revelation: he recited along with the angel, Allah ordered him to wait until the revelation was complete and undertook to gather it in his chest, ease its recitation and explain it, from al-Qiyama 16-19 and Taha 114.

Allah le Très-Haut a dit :
“Move not your tongue with it to hasten it. Indeed, upon Us is its collection and its recitation. So when We have recited it, follow its recitation. Then upon Us is its explanation.”
Sourate al-Qiyama, 16-19
Et Il a dit :
“Exalted is Allah, the True Sovereign! Do not hasten with the Quran before its revelation is completed to you, and say: My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
Sourate Taha, 114
This applied at the beginning of the revelation: out of the fervor of his desire to take from the angel what was revealed to him from Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he would recite with him at the same time. Allah the Most High then ordered him to listen until the revelation was finished, and He undertook to gather it in his chest, to ease for him its recitation and its transmission, to explain it, interpret it, clarify it and bring him to its intended meaning.
Such is the meaning of the two verses: “its collection” means in your chest, and “its recitation” that you recite it; “when We have recited it” means the angel recites it to you; “follow its recitation” means listen to it and reflect upon it; “then upon Us is its explanation” is equivalent to “say: my Lord, increase me in knowledge”.
