Part of: Year 3 of the Hijra: the Banu Qaynuqa’, Ka’b ibn al-Ashraf and Uhud
Ibn Ishaq said: he stayed in Medina all of Rabi’ al-Awwal, or excepting little of it, then went out in the morning intending Quraysh. Ibn Hisham said: he appointed over Medina Ibn Umm Maktum. Ibn Ishaq said: until he reached Buhran, which is a mine in the Hijaz on the side of al-Furu’, and he stayed there the month of Rabi’ al-Akhira and Jumada al-Ula, then returned to Medina meeting no ruse. Al-Waqidi said: his absence, peace be upon him, from Medina was ten days; and Allah knows best.
