To pronounce the name The Advancer in Arabic, we say: Al-Muqaddim.
It is written in Arabic: المقدم.
From the Arabic root ق-د-م (q-d-m, precedence), مُقَدِّم (muqaddim) is the Form II active participle, the one who advances whom or what He wills.
The Name “The Advancer” means: The One who brings near and advances whom He wills in wisdom. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to ask for upright guidance, learn the truth, and guide others with knowledge, patience, and kindness. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
