📖 1 min readThe Benefactor is one of the 99 beautiful names of Allah. Its meaning: The One who conveys every good and benefit to His creatures.
To pronounce the name The Benefactor in Arabic, we say: An-Nafi'.
It is written in Arabic: النافع.
From the Arabic root ن-ف-ع (n-f-', benefit), نَافِع (nafi') is the active participle فَاعِل, the one who creates and grants every true benefit.
The Name “The Benefactor” means: The One who conveys every good and benefit to His creatures. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to give without display, recognize every blessing as coming from Allah, and serve creation generously. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
