To pronounce the name The Light in Arabic, we say: An-Nur.

From the Arabic root ن-و-ر (n-w-r, light and illumination), نُور (nur) is a noun denoting light itself and the one who illuminates and guides.
The Name “The Light” means: The One who makes things manifest and illumines hearts through guidance. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to ask for upright guidance, learn the truth, and guide others with knowledge, patience, and kindness. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
