To pronounce the name The Bestower of Honor in Arabic, we say: Al-Mu'izz.
It is written in Arabic: المعز.
From the Arabic root ع-ز-ز ('-z-z, might and honor), مُعِزّ (mu'izz) is the Form IV active participle مُفْعِل, the one who grants honor and strength.
The Name “The Bestower of Honor” means: The One who grants true honor to whom He wills. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to govern the passions, exercise responsibility justly, and remember that all authority truly belongs to Allah. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
