📖 1 min readThe Creator is one of the 99 beautiful names of Allah. Its meaning: The One who determines and creates all things with wisdom.
To pronounce the name The Creator in Arabic, we say: Al-Khaliq.
It is written in Arabic: الخالق.
From the Arabic root خ-ل-ق (kh-l-q, to create and measure), خَالِق (khaliq) is the Form I active participle فَاعِل, the one who brings creation into being.
The Name “The Creator” means: The One who determines and creates all things with wisdom. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to contemplate the wisdom of creation, respect every creature, and use one's abilities for good. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
