What to say when praising a Muslim

قال صلى الله عليه وسلم : إذا كان أحدكم مادحاً صاحبه لا محالة فليقل : أحسبُ فلاناً والله حسيبهُ ولا أزكي على الله أحداً ، أحسبهُ – إن كان يعلم ذاك – كذا وكذا

Pronunciation

Qala salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam: idha kana ahadukum madihan sahibahu la mahallata fa-l-yaqul: ahsabu fulanan wa-llahu hasibahu, wa la uzakki 'ala-llahi ahadan, ahsabuhu — in kana ya'lamu dhalika — kadha wa kadha.

Translation

The Prophet ﷺ said: "If one of you must praise his companion, let him say: I consider so-and-so, and Allah is his Reckoner, and I do not sanctify anyone before Allah — I consider him, if he knows that, to be such and such."
