Supplication for the deceased during the funeral prayer

اللهم اغفر له وارحمه، وعافه ،واعف عنه ،وأكرم نُزُله ، ووسع مُدخلهُ ، واغسله بالماء والثلج والبرد ، ونقه من الخطايا كما ينقى الثوب الأبيض من الدنس ، وأبدله داراً خيراً من داره ، وأهلاً خيراً من أهله وزوجاً خيراً من زوجه، وأدخله الجنة ،وأعذه من عذاب القبر ( ومن عذاب النار )

Pronunciation

Allahumma-ghfir lahu wa-rhamh, wa 'afih, wa-'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulah, wa wassi' mudkhalah, wa-ghsilhu bi-l-ma'i wa-th-thalji wa-l-barad, wa naqqi-hi mina-l-khataya kama yunaqqa-th-thawbu-l-abyadu mina-d-danas, wa abdil-lahu dar an khayran min darihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlih, wa zawjan khayran min zawjih, wa adkhilhu-l-jannah, wa a'idh-hu min 'adhabi-l-qabr (wa min 'adhabi-n-nar).

Translation

O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, grant him well-being and pardon him, honor his abode, widen his entrance, wash him with water, snow and hail, purify him from sins as a white garment is cleansed from dirt, replace for him a home better than his home, a family better than his family and a spouse better than his spouse, admit him into Paradise, and protect him from the torment of the grave (and from the torment of the Fire).

اللهم اغفر لحينا وميتنا ، وشاهدنا وغائبنا ، وصغيرنا وكبيرنا ، وذكرنا وأُنثانا ، اللهم من أحييته منا فأحيه على الإسلام ، ومن توفيته منا فتوفه على الإيمان ، اللهم لا تحرمنا أجره ولا تضلنا بعده

Pronunciation

Allahumma-ghfir li-hayyina wa mayyitina, wa shahidina wa gha'ibina, wa saghirina wa kabirina, wa dhakarina wa unthana. Allahumma man ahyaytahu minna fa-ahyihi 'ala-l-islam, wa man tawaffaytahu minna fa-tawaffahu 'ala-l-iman, Allahumma la tahrimna ajrahu wa la tadilna ba'dah.

Translation

O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, our present and our absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whoever You give life among us, let him live upon Islam, and whoever You take in death among us, let him die upon faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward, and do not lead us astray after him.

اللهم إن فلان بن فلان في ذمتك،وحبل جوارك،فقه من فتنة القبر وعذاب النار،وأنت أهل الوفاء والحق .فاغفر له وارحمهُ إنك أنت الغفور الرحيم

Pronunciation

Allahumma inna [fulan] ibna [fulan] fi dhimmatik, wa habli jiwarik, fa-qihi fitnata-l-qabri wa 'adha-bi-n-nar, wa Anta ahlul-wafa'i wa-l-haqq, fa-ghfir lahu wa-rhamh, innaka Anta-l-Ghafuru-r-Rahim.

Translation

O Allah, so-and-so son of so-and-so is under Your protection and in the neighborhood of Your guarantee: shield him from the trial of the grave and the torment of the Fire; You are worthy of fidelity and truth. Forgive him and have mercy on him, You are indeed the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

اللهم عبدك وابن عبدك وابن أمتك احتاج إلى رحمتك ،وأنت غني عن عذابه،إن كان مُحسناً فزده في حسناته، وإن كان مُسيئاً فتجاوز عنه

Pronunciation

Allahumma 'abduka wa-bnu 'amatika ihtaja ila rahmatik, wa Anta ghanin 'an 'adhabih, in kana muhsinan fa-zid fi hasanatihi, wa in kana musian fa-tajawaz 'anhu.

Translation

O Allah, Your servant, son of Your maidservant, is in need of Your mercy, and You are free of any need to punish him: if he was a doer of good, increase his good deeds, and if he was a wrongdoer, overlook his faults.
