The merit of glorification, praise, oneness declaration and greatness

Arabic text

قال صلى الله عيه وسلم من قال سبحان الله وبحمده في يوم مائة مرة حطت خطاياه ولو كانت مثل زبد البحر

Pronunciation

Qala salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam: man qala subhana-llahi wa bi-hamdih fi yawmin mi'ata marrat, huttat khatayahu wa law kanat mithla zabadi-l-bahr.

Translation

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever says: Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him, one hundred times a day, his sins fall, even if they were like the foam of the sea."

وقال صلى الله عيه وسلم : من قال لا إله إلا وحده لا شريك لهُ ، لهُ الملك ، ولهُ الحمدُ ، وهو على كل شيء قدير عشر مرات . كان كمن أعتق أربعة أنفس من ولد إسماعيل

Pronunciation

Wa qala salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam: man qala la ilaha illa-llahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir 'ashra marrat, kana ka-man a'taqa arba'a anfusin min wuladi Isma'il.

Translation

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever says: there is no god but Allah alone, without partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is capable of all things — ten times — is like one who has freed four servants of the descendants of Isma'il."

وقال صلى الله عيه وسلم : كلمتان خفيفتان على اللسان ، ثقيلتان في الميزان حبيبتان إلى الرحمن : سبحان الله وبحمده سبحان الله العظيم

Pronunciation

Wa qala salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam: kalimatani khafifatani 'ala-l-lisani, thaqilatani fi-l-mizani, habibatani ila-r-Rahman: subhana-llahi wa bi-hamdih, subhana-llahi-l-'Azim.

Translation

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Two words light upon the tongue, heavy in the balance, beloved to the Most Merciful: Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him; Glory be to Allah the Most Great."

وقال صلى الله عيه وسلم : لأن أقول سبحان الله ، والحمد لله ،ولا إله إلا الله ، والله أكبر ،أحب إلى مما طلعت عليه الشمس

Pronunciation

Wa qala salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam: li-an aqula subhana-llah, wa-l-hamdu lillah, wa la ilaha illa-llah, wa-llahu akbar, ahabbu ilayya mimma tala'at 'alayhi-sh-shams.

Translation

The Prophet ﷺ said: "That I say: Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest — is dearer to me than all upon which the sun has risen."

Arabic text

وقال صلى الله عيه وسلم: أيعجز أحدكم أن يكسب كل يوم ألف حسنةفسأله سائل من جلسائه كيف يكسب أحدنا ألف حسنة ؟ قال : يسبح مائة تسبيحة ، فيكتب له ألف حسنة أو يحط عنه ُ ألف خطيئة

Pronunciation

Wa qala salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam: a-yu'jizu ahadukum an yaksiba kulla yawmin alfa hasanah? Fa-sa'alahu sa'ilun min julasih kayfa naksibu ahaduna alfa hasanah? Qala: yusabbihu mi'ata tasbihah, fa-yuktabu lahu alfu hasanatin aw yuhattu 'anhu alfu khati'ah.

Translation

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Is anyone of you incapable of earning a thousand good deeds each day?" A questioner among his audience asked: "How would any of us earn a thousand good deeds?" He said: "A hundred glorifications: a thousand good deeds are written for him, or a thousand sins are erased from him."

Arabic text

من قال سبحان الله العظيم وبحمده غرست له نخلة في الجنة

Pronunciation

Man qala subhana-llahi-l-'Azimi wa bi-hamdih, ghurasat lahu nakhlatun fi-l-jannah.

Translation

Whoever says: Glory be to Allah the Most Great and praise be to Him — a palm tree is planted for him in Paradise.

وقال صلى الله عيه وسلم: يا عبد الله بن قيس ألا أدلك على كنز من كنوز الجنة ؟ فقلت:بلى يا رسول الله ، قال : قل لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله

Pronunciation

Wa qala salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam: ya 'Abdullah ibn Qays, a-la adullaka 'ala kanzin min kunuzi-l-jannah? Fa-qultu: bala ya Rasula-llah. Qala: qul: la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.

Translation

The Prophet ﷺ said: "O 'Abdullah ibn Qays, shall I not point you to a treasure among the treasures of Paradise?" I said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Say: there is no power nor strength except with Allah."

وقال صلى الله عيه وسلم: أحب الكلام إلى الله أربعٌ : سبحان الله ، والحمد لله ، ولا إله إلا الله ، والله أكبر ، لا يضرك بأيهنَّ بدأت

Pronunciation

Wa qala salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam: ahabbu-l-kalami ila-llahi arba'atun: subhana-llah, wa-l-hamdu lillah, wa la ilaha illa-llah, wa-llahu akbar, la yadurruka bi-ayyihunna bada'ta.

Translation

The Prophet ﷺ said: "The words most beloved to Allah are four: Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest — it does not harm you which of them you begin with."

جاء أعرابي إلى رسول الله صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فقال: علمني كلاماً أقوله : قال قل لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك لهً ،الله أكبرُ كبيراً ، والحمد لله كثيراً ، سبحان الله رب العالمين ،لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العزيز الحكيم قال فهؤلاء لربي فما لي ؟ قال : قل: اللهم اغفر لي ،وارحمني ،واهدني وارزقني

Pronunciation

Ja'a a'rabiyyun ila rasuli-llahi salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam fa-qala: 'allimni kalaman aquluh. Qala: qul: la ilaha illa-llahu wahdahu la sharika lah, Allahu akbaru kabiran, wa-l-hamdu lillahi kathiran, subhana-llahi rabbi-l-'alamin, la hawla wa la quwwata illa bi-llahi-l-'Azizi-l-Hakim. Qala: fa-hula'u li-rabbi, wa ma li? Qala: qul: Allahumma-ghfir li, wa-rhamni, wa-hdini, wa-rzuqni.

Translation

A bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "Teach me words to say." He said: "Say: there is no god but Allah alone, without partner; Allah is the Greatest, greatly; praise be to Allah, abundantly; glory be to Allah, Lord of the worlds; there is no power nor strength except with Allah, the Mighty, the Wise." He said: "These are for my Lord; and for me?" He said: "Say: O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, and provide for me."

Arabic text

كان الرجل إذا أسلم علمه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الصلاة ثم أمره أن يدعو بهؤلاء الكلمات : اللهم اغفر لي، وارحمني ،واهدني ، وعافني وارزقني

Pronunciation

Kana-r-rajulu idha aslama 'allamahu-n-nabiyyu salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallama-s-salata thumma amarahu an yad'ua bi-hadhihi-l-kalimat: Allahumma-ghfir li, wa-rhamni, wa-hdini, wa 'afini, wa-rzuqni.

Translation

When a man converted to Islam, the Prophet ﷺ taught him the prayer then ordered him to invoke with these words: "O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me well-being and provide for me."

Arabic text

إن أفضل الذكر لا إله إلا الله

Pronunciation

Inna afdala-dh-dhikri la ilaha illa-llah.

Translation

"The best of remembrance is: there is no god but Allah."

الباقيات الصالحات : سبحان الله والحمد لله ، ولا إله إلا الله ،والله أكبر ،و لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله

Pronunciation

Al-baqiyatu-s-salihat: subhana-llah, wa-l-hamdu lillah, wa la ilaha illa-llah, wa-llahu akbar, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.

Translation

"The enduring good deeds: Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, and there is no power nor strength except with Allah."
