Biography of Husayn ibn Ali

Al-Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib bin Abdul Muttalib bin Hashim bin Abdul Manaf Al-Qurashi Al-Hashemi, Abu Abdullah, the rayhanah of the Prophet ﷺ and his likeness from the chest down. When he was born, the ear of the Prophet ﷺ was in his ear. He is the master of the youth of the people of Paradise. The fifth person to be clothed is his mother, Fatima, daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the mistress of the women of the worlds, except for Mary, peace be upon him. Abu Ahmad Abdul Wahhab bin Abi Mansour Al-Amin Al-Baghdadi told us, Abu Al-Fadl bin Nasser told us, Abu Taher bin Abi Al-Saqr told us Al-Anbari, Abu Al-Barakat bin Nazif Al-Farra told us, Al-Hasan bin Rashiq told us, Abu Bishr Al-Dulabi told us, Muhammad bin Awf Al-Tai told us, Abu Naim is Al-Fadl bin Dukayn and Abdullah bin Musa.

Reported by Israel, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, who said: When Al-Hasan was born, I named him Harb. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, came and said: "Show me my son. What have you named him?" We said: Harb. He said: "Rather, it is good." When Al-Hussein was born, I named him Harb. Then the Prophet ﷺ came and said: "Show me my son. What have you named him?" We said: Harb. He said: "Rather, it is Hussein." When the third was born, I named him Harb. Then the Prophet ﷺ came and said: "Show me my son. What have you named him?" We said: Harb. He said: "Rather, he is a Muhsin." Then he said: "I named them after the names of the sons of Aaron: Shubar, Shubayr, and Mushabbar. Reported by " He said: Al-Dulabi, on the authority of Imran bin Suleiman, who said: "Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein are among the names of the people of Paradise.

They were not in pre-Islamic times." He said: Al-Dulabi told us, Ahmed bin Abd told me. Allah bin Abdul Rahim Al-Zuhri, Abu Salih Abdullah bin Salih told us, he said: Al-Layth bin Saad said: Fatima, daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, gave birth to Al-Hussein bin Ali, on the nights of the last of Sha'ban in the year four of the Hijra. Al-Zubayr bin Bakkar said Al-Hussein was born on the fifth of the last of Sha'ban in the fourth year of the Hijra. He said Jafar bin Muhammad did not have any pregnancies with Al-Hussein after the birth of Al-Hasan except one period. Qatada said Al-Hussein was born a year and ten months after Al-Hassan, so she gave birth to him for six years, and five and a half months after the Hijra.

Reported by Abu Al-Fadl bin Abi Al-Hassan bin Abi Abdullah Al-Dini, on the authority of Fatima Al-Hussein's daughter, who said: She heard her father, Al-Hussein bin Ali, say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying: "There is no Muslim man, male or female, who is afflicted by a calamity. And if he fulfills his covenant with her, then it will happen to her that she will take it back, unless Allah will happen to him at that time. And He gave him the reward for what he promised him on the day he was afflicted with it. Reported by " Abu al-Qasim bin Ali bin al-Hasan, on the authority of Al-Hussein Ibn Ali, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said: "My nation will be safe from drowning if Those who boarded the sea should recite: "In the name of Allah, its course and its anchorage. Indeed, my Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Reported by " Abu Mansour ibn Muslim ibn Ali, on the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said: Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein used to wrestle in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say: "Is it Hassan?" » Fatima said: Why do you say: "It is Hassan"? He said: "Indeed, Gabriel says: It is Husayn." Ismail bin Ubayd Allah, Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Mihran, and Abu Ja'far bin Ahmad told us, They said, with their chain of transmission to Abu Issa Muhammad ibn Issa, Uqba ibn Mukarram al-Ammi al-Basri informed us, Wahb ibn Jarir ibn Hazim informed us, my father informed us, about Muhammad bin Abi Yaqoub, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Nu`aym, that a man from the people of Iraq asked Ibn Umar about mosquito blood getting on clothes, and Ibn Omar: Look at this man asking about the blood of mosquitoes.

They killed the son of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying: "Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein "My basil from this world." He narrated something like this on the authority of Abu Hurairah, and in mentioning his brother Al-Hasan, there were hadiths they had in common, so there is no need to repeat it. Reported by Its texts said: Muhammad ibn Isa, on the authority of Ya'la bin Murrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said: "Hussein is from me. I am from Hussein. Allah loves whoever loves Hussein. Reported by Hussein is a descendant of The Tribes" He said: Al-Tirmidhi, on the authority of Ali, who said: "Al-Hassan resembles the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, from the chest to the head. Al-Hussein is more like the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he was not lower than that. Reported by " Yahya bin Mahmoud bin Saad Al-Thaqafi, on the authority of Anas bin Malik, who said: "Ubayd Allah bin Ziyad came with the head of Hussein bin Ali.

"So it was placed in a basin. He started to joke about it and said something about its beauty." Anas said: "He was the most like the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He was marked with a mark." This is an authentic and agreed-upon hadith. Al-Awza'i narrated on the authority of Shaddad bin Abdullah, who said: I heard Wathilah bin Al-Asqa', and the head of Al-Hussein was brought, and a man from the Levant cursed him and cursed his father, so Wathilah stood up and said: By Allah, I will continue to love Ali, Al-Hassan, Al-Hussein, and Fatima, after I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ Allah, said about them what he said, "You saw me one day. I came to the Prophet ﷺ in the house of Umm Salamah. Then Al-Hasan came and made him sit on his right thigh and kissed him. Then Al-Hussein came and made him sit on his left thigh and kissed him. Then Fatima came and he made her sit in front of him.

Then he called Ali and then said: 'It is only Allah's will to To remove impurity from you, O People of the House, and to purify you with a thorough purification. I said to Wathilah: What is an abomination? He said: Doubt about Allah. Abu Ahmad Al-Askari said: It is said that Al-Awza'i did not narrate any hadith other than this about virtues, and Allah knows best. He said: Likewise, Al-Zuhri did not narrate except one hadith about it. They were afraid of the Umayyads. Al-Zubayr bin Bakkar said: Musab told me, he said: Al-Hussein performed twenty-five Hajj on foot, so if he had performed Hajj in Medina before they entered Iraq on foot. He then did not perform Hajj from Iraq, and all that he lived after leaving Iraq was nineteen years and months, for he returned to Medina from Iraq in the year forty-one, and was killed in the first year of sixty-one.

Al-Hussein hated what his brother Al-Hassan had done by handing over the matter to Muawiyah. He said: I adjure you by Allah to believe Muawiyah's narrations and disbelieve your father's narrations. Al-Hasan said to him: Be quiet, I know this matter better than you. Al-Hussein, peace be upon him, was virtuous, fasting, praying, performing Hajj, giving charity, and doing all good deeds. He was killed on a Friday; according to another report, on a Saturday, which is the day of Ashura in the year sixty-one in Karbala in the land of Iraq, and his grave is famous and visited. The reason for his killing was that when Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan, a scribe from many of the people of Kufa, asked Al-Hussein bin Ali to come to them to pledge allegiance to him.

He had refused to pledge allegiance to Yazid bin Muawiyah when his father pledged allegiance to him as ruler of the Covenant, and Ibn Omar, Abdullah bin Al-Zubair, and Abdul Rahman bin Abi Bakr refused with him. When Muawiyah died, he did not pledge allegiance either, and left Medina. He went to Mecca, and the books of the people of Kufa came to him. While he was in Mecca, he prepared to march, but a group of them forbade him: his brother Muhammad ibn al-Hanafiyyah, Ibn Umar, Ibn Abbas, and others. He said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, in a dream. He commanded me to do a command, so I will do what he commanded. When he came to Iraq, Yazid had appointed Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad to control Kufa, so he prepared armies for him, and appointed Omar ibn Saad ibn Abi Waqqas against them. He promised him the emirate of Rayy.

So he went as commander of the army. They fought Husayn after they asked him to submit to the rule of Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad, but he refused, and fought until he and nineteen of his household were killed. Sinan ibn Anas al-Nakha'i killed him; in another account, Shimr ibn Dhu al-Jawshan killed him, and Khawli ibn Yazid al-Asbahi finished him off; some reports state instead: Umar ibn Saad killed him. It was nothing. What is true is that he was killed by Sinan bin Anas Al-Nakha'i. As for the statement of those who said: Shimr killed him, and Omar bin Saad, because Shimr was the one who incited the people to kill him, and brought them to him, and Omar was the commander of the army, so the killing was attributed to him, and when Khawli finished him off, he carried his head to Ibn Ziyad, and said: I have the most precious silver and gold stirrups... I killed the veiled master. You killed the best of people, mother and father...

and the best of them when they claim lineage. Another report states: Sinan bin Anas when He killed him. People said to him: You killed Al-Hussein bin Ali, who is the son of Fatima, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He is pleased with her. He was the most dangerous of the Arabs. He wanted to remove the ownership of these people. If they had given you the houses of their money, it would have been little! So he mounted his horse. He was brave with a dent, so he stood at the door of Omar bin Saad's tent, and recited the aforementioned verses, and Omar said: I bear witness that you are crazy. He removed him with a rod, and said: Do you speak these words? By Allah, if Ziyad heard him, he would kill you. When Al-Hussein was killed, Omar bin Saad ordered a group of people to ride their horses and trample them on Al-Hussein, and the number of those who were killed with him was seventy-two men.

When he was killed, Omar sent his head and the heads of his companions to Ibn Ziyad, so he gathered the people and brought the heads, and began to poke a rod between the lips of Al-Hussein. When Zayd bin Arqam saw him not raising his penis, he said: I will use this rod, for by Him there is no god other than Him. I have seen the lips of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Allah, kissed them on these lips. He then cried, and Ibn Ziyad said to him: Allah made your eyes weep. By Allah, if you were not an old man and had become senile, I would have beheaded you. So he went out and said: You, Arabs, slaves after today, killed Al-Hussein bin Fatima, and ordered Ibn Marjana, for he kills your best and enslaves your evil, and most of the people lament him. Among what was said about him is what Suleiman bin Quthah Al-Khuza'i said: I passed by the verses of the family of Muhammad... and I did not see them like them when they came.

May Allah not remove the homes and their people... and if I become one of them against my will, they will be empty of hope. Then they returned with a calamity... These calamities were great and horrific for those people who did not draw their swords... and you were not among their enemies when you asked. If a gentleman from the family of Hashim was killed... he humiliated the necks of the Quraysh, so it hurt. You see that the earth has become sick... for the loss of Hussein, and the country shivered and howled, and the sky cried for his loss... and its stars lamented over him and prayed in many verses, and Mansour Al-Nimri said: Woe to you. O killer of Al-Hussein, you have... brought upon me a burden that is afflicting the pregnant woman, that is, a pregnancy that Ahmad has fallen into... his hole from the heat of the bereaved. Come and ask tomorrow for his intercession... and rise up and spread his pelvis with the one who is crying.

I have no doubt about the condition of his killer... but I may doubt the traitor, as if you only wonder that... you will not inflict upon the people the vengeance of the imminent. Al-Ajāl: Ibrahim ibn Muhammad al-Faqih, and more than one person, informed us. They said, with their chain of transmission through al-Tirmidhi, he said: Abu Khaled al-Ahmar told us, he said: Razin told us, Razin told me. Salma, he said: I visited Umm Salama. She was crying, so I said: What makes you cry? She said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, in a dream, and there was dust on his head and beard, so I said: What is the matter with you, O Messenger of Allah?

He said: "I witnessed the killing of Al-Hussein just now." Hammad bin Salamah narrated, on the authority of Ammar bin Abi Ammar, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, in what a sleeper sees at midday, standing, disheveled and dusty, with a bottle of blood in his hand.
