As for (the case) where one of the two buys through a corrupt purchase, in that the seller says: I sell you one of these two slaves for such a price, without mentioning any option at all: the buyer then owns neither of them before taking possession, for the corrupt sale does not confer ownership before taking possession; if he takes possession of both, he owns one of them with a corrupt ownership, and whichever of them perishes.
