As for the blind man, they agreed that if he finds no guide, it (the Friday prayer) is not obligatory for him; and if he finds a guide, it is likewise according to Abu Hanifa, while according to Abu Yusuf and Muhammad it is obligatory for him. The question, with its proofs, will come in the book of Hajj, Allah willing.

Chapter: the merit of congregational prayer and the excuse for leaving it. Question: al-Shafi'i, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Malik informed us, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Prayer in congregation surpasses prayer offered alone by twenty-seven degrees."" Al-Shafi'i said: "I do not grant concession to one who is able to pray in congregation to abandon attending it, except for an excuse."
The man says 'Subhana Allah' audibly to himself; the woman strikes one hand against the other (Muslim 416).
Valid but discouraged when row space exists; if space is lacking, lawful without fault.
