Al of the thing: its essence; in the hadith: « given a pipe of the Dawoud-family’s pipes », meaning a pipe of Dawoud himself. Al of royalty: its subjects, meaning its first and chief governing, governing well, ruling them. Al of man: his partisans; hence His word: « enter Pharaoh’s family the harshest torment ».
