Al-ḍʿyf mn al-ḥdyth according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

That which is of a lower rank than sound (hasan). Its weakness is sometimes due to the weakness of certain narrators, stemming from a lack of probity (adala), poor memorization, or suspicion regarding their creed, and sometimes due to other defects, such as interruption in the chain (irsal and inqita) and tadlis.
