Definition Al-imlaṣ

Al-imlaṣ according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Slipping (miscarrying) before birth: that the woman be struck in her belly and cast forth her fetus. This interpretation is more specific than the philologists' saying: that imlas is the woman's slipping before birth, that is, before the time of birth. (Al-Maghrib, p. 433; Nayl al-Awtar 7/71.)
