Al-zwja according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

In language: a man's woman (wife); its plural zawjat; she is also called zawj: the man is the woman's zawj and the woman the man's zawj; this is the pure language, and in it came the Qur'an, as in: 'dwell, you and your spouse (zawjuka), in the Garden.'
