📖 1 min read(Placing and sending). Al-irsal in hadith is the absence of the isnad, such that the narrator says: The Messenger of Allah - may the prayers of Allah and His peace be upon him - said, without saying: So-and-so narrated to us from the Messenger of Allah - may the prayers of Allah and His peace be upon him -.
The sending (al-ba'th) applies to human beings as well as to beloved and disliked things, and it occurs through subjugation, release, and cessation of prevention, whereas al-irsal is the opposite of withholding (al-imsak). A mursal hadith is one whose isnad is not connected to its companion. The irsal of speech means releasing it without restriction, and the irsal of the hadith is the omission of mentioning its companion.
