Al-mʿlq mn al-ḥdyth according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

That from which one or more narrators have been omitted from the beginning of its chain of transmission. The omission is either at the beginning of the chain, which is the suspended (al-mu'allaq), or in the middle, which is the interrupted (al-munqati'), or at the end, which is the sent (al-mursal).
