Definition Al-mlaʾ al-mutashaabh

Al-mlaʾ al-mutashaabh according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

It was said: it is a body in which matters of differing realities are not found. And it was said: what is meant by it is the infinite body; if matters in the first meaning are taken to mean parts, then between the two meanings there is a partial overlap because they coincide in the infinite body whose parts are identical in reality, and they diverge in the finite body with identical parts and the infinite body with differing parts. If matters are taken to mean limits, then their ultimate outcome is one. And it was said: what is meant by it is the infinite body in which matters of differing realities are not found. This meaning is absolutely more specific than the two preceding meanings. And the similarity in the plenum means that its parts are identical in nature.
