Almshhwr fy alshhada according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Among the Ibadis: the testimony of the people of the ensemble is three, or more. The witness (al-shahid): the witness. (Plural): witnesses (shuhada' and ashhad). - : one who is killed in the path of Allah the Most High. - : the one from whose knowledge nothing escapes. And in the noble revelation: ﴿And they did not resent them except that they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy * To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness﴾ (Al-Buruj: 8-9), meaning: nothing escapes His knowledge in all the heavens and the earth, and nothing hidden is concealed from Him. - In the terminology of the Sacred Law: one who is killed in the path of Allah, and he is the one who fights so that the word of Allah is the highest, or the one killed unjustly outside of fighting. (Al-Husayn Al-San'ani) - He has specific rulings in this world, and he has a reward in the hereafter. And he is for that reason of three categories: 1 - The martyr of this world and the hereafter. 2 - The martyr of this world only. 3 - The martyr of the hereafter only. And whenever the jurists mention the martyr unconditionally, it refers to one of the first two categories. (Al-Bajirami) - Among the Hanafis. A - The martyr of this world and the hereafter: he is every legally responsible person, Muslim, pure, killed unjustly by what entails retaliation without blood money, and who did not survive with lingering agony. And lingering agony (al-irtithath) is that he is carried, or eats, or drinks, or makes a will, or remains alive for a day and a night. Likewise if he is killed by a rebel, or an enemy combatant, or a highway robber, even by causes without a sharp instrument, or is found wounded in their battleground. Likewise one who is killed defending a self, or wealth, or in a city, or a village unjustly. B - The martyr of this world only: he is one who fought for a worldly purpose. C - The martyr of the hereafter only: and he is one in whom the conditions of the martyr of the first type were not realized. Likewise one who targeted the enemy and hit himself, the drowned, the burned, the stranger/exile, the one crushed under a collapsed building, the one with a abdominal disease, the victim of plague, the woman dying in childbirth, the one who dies on the night of Friday, and the one who dies seeking knowledge. - Among the Shafi'is. A - The martyr of this world and the hereafter: he is one who is killed in fighting the disbelievers, because of it, but who fought for the exaltation of the word of Allah the Most High. As for the one who dies in the battleground of the disbelievers, not due to fighting them, but suddenly, or by illness, he is not a martyr, and it has been said: he is a martyr. And if the rebels kill one of the people of justice, he is not a martyr. And it has been said: he is a martyr. As for if the people of justice kill a human from the rebels in the state of fighting, he is not a martyr. And: one who is killed by highway robbers, or thieves, he is not a martyr according to the correct view. And it has been said: he is a martyr. B - The martyr of this world only: he is the one killed in the war against the disbelievers, and he had embezzled from the spoils of war, or was killed fleeing, or fought out of ostentation, and similar. C - The martyr of the hereafter only: he is the one with abdominal disease, the victim of plague, the drowned, and their likes. - Among the Hanbalis. A - The martyr of this world and the hereafter: he is the one killed in battle while being sincere. B - The martyr of this world only: he is the one killed in battle out of ostentation, or similar. C - The martyr of the hereafter only: he is the one to whom the Lawgiver has established martyrdom, while the specific rulings of the martyr do not apply to him, like the drowned, and similar. - Among the Itra: the killed of the rebels is a martyr. - Among the Hadiya: he is the one wounded in battle, even if he dies after a while. Likewise one who is killed defending a self, or wealth, or in the city unjustly. - Among the Jafaris: he is the one who was killed before the Imam, or his deputy. And: one who was killed in battle before the Prophet, may the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, or the Imam, or the special deputy, and others. Al-Mushahada: visual observation. The witnessed day (al-yawm al-mashhud): that in which people gather for an important matter. And in the العزيز Quran: ﴿Indeed in that is a sign for one who fears the punishment of the hereafter. That is a Day for which the people will be gathered, and that is a Day [that will be] witnessed﴾ (Hud: 103), meaning: immense, attended by the angels, where the messengers gather, and all creatures are resurrected therein from the jinns, humans, and animals. - : The Day of Resurrection. - : The Day of Arafah. - : The Day of Friday.
