Al-mshhwr mn al-ḥdyth according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

It is that which originates from solitary narrations (ahad), then becomes widespread so that it is transmitted by a group of people whose collusion upon a lie is inconceivable, thus becoming like the recurrent (mutawatir) after the first century.
