Definition Al-nmam

Al-nmam according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

He who speaks with a group of people and then gossips about them, revealing that which is hateful to reveal; whether it is disliked by the one whose words are conveyed, the one to whom they are conveyed, or a third party, and whether the revelation is by speech, by gesture, or by other means.

Al-nmam according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

He who speaks with a person and then gossips about him to reveal that which is disliked to be revealed, whether it is disliked by the one whose words are conveyed, or the one to whom they are conveyed, or a third party, and whether the revelation is by speech, or by gesture, or by other means.
