Definition Al-rayḥaanu

Al-rayḥaanu according to An-Nihaya (Ibn al-Athir)

It is applied to mercy, provision and repose; the child was named rayhan in the sense of provision.

Al-rayḥaanu according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

With kasra of the ra', per Abu al-Sa'adat: every sweet-smelling plant among the kinds of aromatics; it has been said: the tips of every plant of pleasant scent (Mu'jam al-Mustalahat, vol. 2).

Al-rayḥaanu according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

A name for every green plant without a trunk having a pleasant scent, such as ambergris and the rose.

Al-rayḥaanu in the Quran

﴿وَٱلْحَبُّ ذُو ٱلْعَصْفِ وَٱلرَّيْحَانُ
