The Truth’s veiling us by His might, and jaml His unveiling by His mercy, mentioned by at-Tounsi. Ibn Kamil said: jalal among attributes is what touches might and anger. Ar-Raghib said: jalala is worth’s greatness, and jalal without ha extremity in worth’s and import’s greatness; Allah specified it, hence Dhou l-Jalal, used of none other. Al-jalil: great of worth, not particular to Him.
With kasra, plural joul: the beast’s caparison, as clothing for man. With fatha, among attributes: what touches might and anger in al-Basa’ir. Jalala: worth’s greatness, without ha extremity in worth and import greatness.
﴿وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ﴾
« And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. »
Surah الرحمن : 27
﴿تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ﴾
« Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. »
