The seal and the mark, for warding off ills and calamities. The khatam of the book: what keeps it and bars onlookers from its inward; in the hadith: « amine, seal of the Lord of the worlds upon His believing servants ».
What is laid on the wound’s surface, a crust shielding it from ills.
By which the dinar and dirham are designated; hence the hadith: « dirhams and dinars are Allah’s seals on earth » (at-Tabarani in al-Awsat from Abou Hourayra: « whoever comes with his master’s seal, his need is met »). And the widow; from Boukhari’s hadith of the three sheltered in the cave, and the woman’s word: fear Allah and take not the seal off but rightfully.
