Definition Mdmn al-khmr

Mdmn al-khmr according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

One habitually given to drinking it; and whoever drinks wine intending to drink it whenever he finds it is mudman al-khamr (habituated to wine).

Mdmn al-khmr according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

One habitually given to drinking it; and whoever drinks wine intending to drink it whenever he finds it is mudman al-khamr. (Dastur al-'Ulama', 3/232). Al-mada (with damma of the mim): its plural is madiya; it is the knife. In the hadith: 'we have no knife,' and he said (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): 'whatever causes the blood to flow, with the name of Allah invoked upon it, eat of it.'
