Al-Jouhari said: an-na’l: the shoe, feminine; diminutive na’ila; said: the sandale among Arabs: a shoe not encircling the foot; encircling it and covering both heels, it is the khuff. The sandale feminine metaphorically; each foot a sandal, man two sandals at his feet; Allah said: « remove your sandals: you are in the sacred valley, Touwa ».
The shoe: what the foot is kept of the ground by; also the thick piece of ground whose pebbles gleam and which sprouts not.
