An invocation said upon rising from bowing, meaning: Allah hears the one who praises and extols Him.
When to say it? Said while rising from bowing
That is, Allah accepts the praise of the one who praises Him, as one says: the judge has heard the proof, meaning he accepted it; and the lam in "liman" denotes benefit, and the ha in "hamidah" is an allusion; thus in al-Mustasfa. And in al-Fawa'id al-Hamidiya it is mentioned that it is for the pause and rest. Some commentators of al-Muqaddima al-Kaydaniya reported from 'Umdat al-Islam: if he says "sami'a Allahu liman hamd" without the ha, his prayer is invalid. And it is reported from 'Umdat al-Fatawa: if he recites "sami'a Allahu liman hamidah" silencing the mim, his prayer is invalid. And in Fatawa al-Hujja it is mentioned that he stops on the silent ha and does not say hamidah with a vowel.
