Ythrb according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

The name of Medina the Illumined, to which the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) migrated; it is a derived form of a present-tense verb; it was named after a man of the 'Amaliqa who built it, said al-Suhayli (al-Misbah al-Munir, root tharaba, p. 81; root yathrib, p. 679).
