Definition of Fjj

Al-Fajj refers to a gap between two mountains, and it is used for a wide road.

Its plural is fijāj.

The Almighty says: 'Through spacious paths' (Al-Anbiya 31), and: 'They will come from every distant pass' (Al-Hajj 27).

Al-fajj also means distance.

Surah Al-Anbiya : 31 Meccan

﴿وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ﴾

And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided.

Surah Al-Hajj : 27 Medinan

﴿وَأَذِّن فِى ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَجِّ يَأْتُوكَ رِجَالًا وَعَلَىٰ كُلِّ ضَامِرٍ يَأْتِينَ مِن كُلِّ فَجٍّ عَمِيقٍ﴾

And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass -

﴿لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا﴾

That you may follow therein roads of passage.' "
