Definition of Jwd

Allah says: 'And it settled on the Jûdî' (Hûd: 44).

Al-Jûdî is the name of the mountain where Noah's ark landed after the Flood.

It is a blessed place, witness to divine mercy toward believers saved from destruction.

And it was said, "O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold [your rain]." And the water subsided, and the matter was accomplished, and the ship came to rest on the [mountain of] Judiyy. And it was said, "Away with the wrongdoing people."
Surah Sad : 31 Meccan
﴿إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ ٱلصَّٰفِنَٰتُ ٱلْجِيَادُ
[Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses.
