بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Verse 1 - Surah Al-Insaan: 11 words

هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ حِينٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًۭٔا مَّذْكُورًا

Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned?

هَلْ hal Has
أَتَىٰ atā (there) come
عَلَى ʿalā upon
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ l-insāni man
حِينٌۭ ḥīnun a period
مِّنَ mina of
ٱلدَّهْرِ l-dahri time
لَمْ lam not
يَكُن yakun he was
شَيْـًۭٔا shayan a thing
مَّذْكُورًا madhkūran mentioned

Verse 2 - Surah Al-Insaan: 10 words

إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍۢ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا

Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing.

إِنَّا innā Indeed, We
خَلَقْنَا khalaqnā [We] created
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ l-insāna man
مِن min from
نُّطْفَةٍ nuṭ'fatin a semen-drop
أَمْشَاجٍۢ amshājin a mixture
نَّبْتَلِيهِ nabtalīhi (that) We test him
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ fajaʿalnāhu so We made (for) him
سَمِيعًۢا samīʿan hearing
بَصِيرًا baṣīran and sight

Verse 3 - Surah Al-Insaan: 7 words

إِنَّا هَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًۭا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا

Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful.

إِنَّا innā Indeed, We
هَدَيْنَـٰهُ hadaynāhu guided him
ٱلسَّبِيلَ l-sabīla (to) the way
إِمَّا immā whether
شَاكِرًۭا shākiran (he) be grateful
وَإِمَّا wa-immā and whether
كَفُورًا kafūran (he) be ungrateful

Verse 4 - Surah Al-Insaan: 6 words

إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ سَلَـٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَـٰلًۭا وَسَعِيرًا

Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze.

إِنَّآ innā Indeed, We
أَعْتَدْنَا aʿtadnā [We] have prepared
لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ lil'kāfirīna for the disbelievers
سَلَـٰسِلَا۟ salāsilā chains
وَأَغْلَـٰلًۭا wa-aghlālan and shackles
وَسَعِيرًا wasaʿīran and a Blazing Fire

Verse 5 - Surah Al-Insaan: 8 words

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍۢ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا

Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur,

إِنَّ inna Indeed
ٱلْأَبْرَارَ l-abrāra the righteous
يَشْرَبُونَ yashrabūna will drink
مِن min from
كَأْسٍۢ kasin a cup
كَانَ kāna is
مِزَاجُهَا mizājuhā its mixture
كَافُورًا kāfūran (of) Kafur

Verse 6 - Surah Al-Insaan: 7 words

عَيْنًۭا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًۭا

A spring of which the [righteous] servants of Allah will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance].

عَيْنًۭا ʿaynan A spring
يَشْرَبُ yashrabu will drink
بِهَا bihā from it
عِبَادُ ʿibādu (the) slaves
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi (of) Allah
يُفَجِّرُونَهَا yufajjirūnahā causing it to gush forth
تَفْجِيرًۭا tafjīran abundantly

Verse 7 - Surah Al-Insaan: 7 words

يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًۭا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًۭا

They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread.

يُوفُونَ yūfūna They fulfill
بِٱلنَّذْرِ bil-nadhri the vows
وَيَخَافُونَ wayakhāfūna and fear
يَوْمًۭا yawman a Day
كَانَ kāna (which) is
شَرُّهُۥ sharruhu its evil
مُسْتَطِيرًۭا mus'taṭīran widespread

Verse 8 - Surah Al-Insaan: 7 words

وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًۭا وَيَتِيمًۭا وَأَسِيرًا

And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,

وَيُطْعِمُونَ wayuṭ'ʿimūna And they feed
ٱلطَّعَامَ l-ṭaʿāma the food
عَلَىٰ ʿalā in spite of
حُبِّهِۦ ḥubbihi love (for) it
مِسْكِينًۭا mis'kīnan (to the) needy
وَيَتِيمًۭا wayatīman and (the) orphan
وَأَسِيرًا wa-asīran and (the) captive

Verse 9 - Surah Al-Insaan: 10 words

إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءًۭ وَلَا شُكُورًا

[Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.

إِنَّمَا innamā Only
نُطْعِمُكُمْ nuṭ'ʿimukum we feed you
لِوَجْهِ liwajhi for (the) Countenance
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi (of) Allah
لَا lā Not
نُرِيدُ nurīdu we desire
مِنكُمْ minkum from you
جَزَآءًۭ jazāan any reward
وَلَا walā and not
شُكُورًا shukūran thanks

Verse 10 - Surah Al-Insaan: 7 words

إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًۭا قَمْطَرِيرًۭا

Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful."

إِنَّا innā Indeed, we
نَخَافُ nakhāfu fear
مِن min from
رَّبِّنَا rabbinā our Lord
يَوْمًا yawman a Day
عَبُوسًۭا ʿabūsan harsh
قَمْطَرِيرًۭا qamṭarīran and distressful

Verse 11 - Surah Al-Insaan: 8 words

فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةًۭ وَسُرُورًۭا

So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness

فَوَقَىٰهُمُ fawaqāhumu But will protect them
ٱللَّهُ l-lahu Allah
شَرَّ sharra (from the) evil
ذَٰلِكَ dhālika (of) that
ٱلْيَوْمِ l-yawmi Day
وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ walaqqāhum and will cause them to meet
نَضْرَةًۭ naḍratan radiance
وَسُرُورًۭا wasurūran and happiness

Verse 12 - Surah Al-Insaan: 5 words

وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةًۭ وَحَرِيرًۭا

And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments].

وَجَزَىٰهُم wajazāhum And will reward them
بِمَا bimā because
صَبَرُوا۟ ṣabarū they were patient
جَنَّةًۭ jannatan (with) a Garden
وَحَرِيرًۭا waḥarīran and silk

Verse 13 - Surah Al-Insaan: 10 words

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًۭا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًۭا

[They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold.

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ muttakiīna Reclining
فِيهَا fīhā therein
عَلَى ʿalā on
ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ l-arāiki couches
لَا lā Not
يَرَوْنَ yarawna they will see
فِيهَا fīhā therein
شَمْسًۭا shamsan sun
وَلَا walā and not
زَمْهَرِيرًۭا zamharīran freezing cold

Verse 14 - Surah Al-Insaan: 6 words

وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَـٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًۭا

And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance.

وَدَانِيَةً wadāniyatan And near
عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim above them
ظِلَـٰلُهَا ẓilāluhā (are) its shades
وَذُلِّلَتْ wadhullilat and will hang low
قُطُوفُهَا quṭūfuhā its cluster of fruits
تَذْلِيلًۭا tadhlīlan dangling low

Verse 15 - Surah Al-Insaan: 8 words

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍۢ مِّن فِضَّةٍۢ وَأَكْوَابٍۢ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠

And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass],

وَيُطَافُ wayuṭāfu And will be circulated
عَلَيْهِم ʿalayhim among them
بِـَٔانِيَةٍۢ biāniyatin vessels
مِّن min of
فِضَّةٍۢ fiḍḍatin silver
وَأَكْوَابٍۢ wa-akwābin and cups
كَانَتْ kānat (that) are
قَوَارِيرَا۠ qawārīrā (of) crystal

Verse 16 - Surah Al-Insaan: 5 words

قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍۢ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًۭا

Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure.

قَوَارِيرَا۟ qawārīrā Crystal-clear
مِن min of
فِضَّةٍۢ fiḍḍatin silver
قَدَّرُوهَا qaddarūhā They will determine its
تَقْدِيرًۭا taqdīran measure

Verse 17 - Surah Al-Insaan: 6 words

وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًۭا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا

And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger

وَيُسْقَوْنَ wayus'qawna And they will be given to drink
فِيهَا fīhā therein
كَأْسًۭا kasan a cup
كَانَ kāna is
مِزَاجُهَا mizājuhā its mixture
زَنجَبِيلًا zanjabīlan (of) Zanjabil

Verse 18 - Surah Al-Insaan: 4 words

عَيْنًۭا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًۭا

[From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel.

عَيْنًۭا ʿaynan A spring
فِيهَا fīhā therein
تُسَمَّىٰ tusammā named
سَلْسَبِيلًۭا salsabīlan Salsabil

Verse 19 - Surah Al-Insaan: 9 words

۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًۭا مَّنثُورًۭا

There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls.

۞ وَيَطُوفُ wayaṭūfu And will circulate
عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim among them
وِلْدَٰنٌۭ wil'dānun young boys
مُّخَلَّدُونَ mukhalladūna made eternal
إِذَا idhā When
رَأَيْتَهُمْ ra-aytahum you see them
حَسِبْتَهُمْ ḥasib'tahum you would think them
لُؤْلُؤًۭا lu'lu-an (to be) pearls
مَّنثُورًۭا manthūran scattered

Verse 20 - Surah Al-Insaan: 7 words

وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًۭا وَمُلْكًۭا كَبِيرًا

And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion.

وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
رَأَيْتَ ra-ayta you look
ثَمَّ thamma then
رَأَيْتَ ra-ayta you will see
نَعِيمًۭا naʿīman blessings
وَمُلْكًۭا wamul'kan and a kingdom
كَبِيرًا kabīran great

Verse 21 - Surah Al-Insaan: 13 words

عَـٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌۭ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌۭ ۖ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍۢ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًۭا طَهُورًا

Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink.

عَـٰلِيَهُمْ ʿāliyahum Upon them
ثِيَابُ thiyābu (will be) garments
سُندُسٍ sundusin (of) fine silk
خُضْرٌۭ khuḍ'run green
وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌۭ ۖ wa-is'tabraqun and heavy brocade
وَحُلُّوٓا۟ waḥullū And they will be adorned
أَسَاوِرَ asāwira (with) bracelets
مِن min of
فِضَّةٍۢ fiḍḍatin silver
وَسَقَىٰهُمْ wasaqāhum and will give them to drink
رَبُّهُمْ rabbuhum their Lord
شَرَابًۭا sharāban a drink
طَهُورًا ṭahūran pure

Verse 22 - Surah Al-Insaan: 8 words

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءًۭ وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا

[And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated."

إِنَّ inna Indeed
هَـٰذَا hādhā this
كَانَ kāna is
لَكُمْ lakum for you
جَزَآءًۭ jazāan a reward
وَكَانَ wakāna and has been
سَعْيُكُم saʿyukum your effort
مَّشْكُورًا mashkūran appreciated

Verse 23 - Surah Al-Insaan: 6 words

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًۭا

Indeed, it is We who have sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Qur'an progressively.

إِنَّا innā Indeed, We
نَحْنُ naḥnu [We]
نَزَّلْنَا nazzalnā [We] revealed
عَلَيْكَ ʿalayka to you
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ l-qur'āna the Quran
تَنزِيلًۭا tanzīlan progressively

Verse 24 - Surah Al-Insaan: 9 words

فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًۭا

So be patient for the decision of your Lord and do not obey from among them a sinner or ungrateful [disbeliever].

فَٱصْبِرْ fa-iṣ'bir So be patient
لِحُكْمِ liḥuk'mi for (the) Command
رَبِّكَ rabbika (of) your Lord
وَلَا walā and (do) not
تُطِعْ tuṭiʿ obey
مِنْهُمْ min'hum from them
ءَاثِمًا āthiman any sinner
أَوْ aw or
كَفُورًۭا kafūran disbeliever

Verse 25 - Surah Al-Insaan: 5 words

وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةًۭ وَأَصِيلًۭا

And mention the name of your Lord [in prayer] morning and evening

وَٱذْكُرِ wa-udh'kuri And remember
ٱسْمَ is'ma (the) name
رَبِّكَ rabbika (of) your Lord
بُكْرَةًۭ buk'ratan morning
وَأَصِيلًۭا wa-aṣīlan and evening

Verse 26 - Surah Al-Insaan: 7 words

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَٱسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًۭا طَوِيلًا

And during the night prostrate to Him and exalt Him a long [part of the] night.

وَمِنَ wamina And of
ٱلَّيْلِ al-layli the night
فَٱسْجُدْ fa-us'jud prostrate
لَهُۥ lahu to Him
وَسَبِّحْهُ wasabbiḥ'hu and glorify Him
لَيْلًۭا laylan a night
طَوِيلًا ṭawīlan long

Verse 27 - Surah Al-Insaan: 8 words

إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًۭا ثَقِيلًۭا

Indeed, these [disbelievers] love the immediate and leave behind them a grave Day.

إِنَّ inna Indeed
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ hāulāi these
يُحِبُّونَ yuḥibbūna love
ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ l-ʿājilata the immediate
وَيَذَرُونَ wayadharūna and leave
وَرَآءَهُمْ warāahum behind them
يَوْمًۭا yawman a Day
ثَقِيلًۭا thaqīlan grave

Verse 28 - Surah Al-Insaan: 9 words

نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَـٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَـٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا

We have created them and strengthened their forms, and when We will, We can change their likenesses with [complete] alteration.

نَّحْنُ naḥnu We
خَلَقْنَـٰهُمْ khalaqnāhum created them
وَشَدَدْنَآ washadadnā and We strengthened
أَسْرَهُمْ ۖ asrahum their forms
وَإِذَا wa-idhā and when
شِئْنَا shi'nā We will
بَدَّلْنَآ baddalnā We can change
أَمْثَـٰلَهُمْ amthālahum their likeness[es]
تَبْدِيلًا tabdīlan (with) a change

Verse 29 - Surah Al-Insaan: 9 words

إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًۭا

Indeed, this is a reminder, so he who wills may take to his Lord a way.

إِنَّ inna Indeed
هَـٰذِهِۦ hādhihi this
تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖ tadhkiratun (is) a reminder
فَمَن faman so whoever
شَآءَ shāa wills
ٱتَّخَذَ ittakhadha let him take
إِلَىٰ ilā to
رَبِّهِۦ rabbihi his Lord
سَبِيلًۭا sabīlan a way

Verse 30 - Surah Al-Insaan: 11 words

وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًۭا

And you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.

وَمَا wamā And not
تَشَآءُونَ tashāūna you will
إِلَّآ illā except
أَن an that
يَشَآءَ yashāa wills
ٱللَّهُ ۚ l-lahu Allah
إِنَّ inna Indeed
ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah
كَانَ kāna is
عَلِيمًا ʿalīman All-Knower
حَكِيمًۭا ḥakīman All-Wise

Verse 31 - Surah Al-Insaan: 10 words

يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا

He admits whom He wills into His mercy; but the wrongdoers - He has prepared for them a painful punishment.

يُدْخِلُ yud'khilu He admits
مَن man whom
يَشَآءُ yashāu He wills
فِى fī into
رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ raḥmatihi His mercy
وَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ wal-ẓālimīna but (for) the wrongdoers
أَعَدَّ aʿadda He has prepared
لَهُمْ lahum for them
عَذَابًا ʿadhāban a punishment
أَلِيمًۢا alīman painful

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا

God and His angels shower their blessings on the Prophet. O believers, you should also send your blessings on him, and salute him with a worthy greeting.

Al-Ahzab 33:56

Blessings on the Prophet ﷺ
