To pronounce the name The Restorer in Arabic, we say: Al-Mu'id.
It is written in Arabic: المعيد.
From the Arabic root ع-و-د ('-w-d, to return), مُعِيد (mu'id) is the Form IV active participle, the one who restores creation after its end.
The Name “The Restorer” means: The One who restores creatures after their death. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to revive the heart through faith and good works, prepare for resurrection, and spend life in obedience. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
