Supplication when the dying person breathes his last

Arabic text

اللهم اغفر لفلان ( باسمه ) ورفع درجته في المهديين، واخلفه في عقبه في الغابرين، واغفر لنا وله يا رب العالمين ،وافسح له في قبره ونور له فيه

Pronunciation

Allahumma-ghfir li-[fulan] (naming him), wa rfa' darajatahu fi-l-mahdiyyin, wa akhlif-hu fi 'aqibihi fi-l-ghabirin, wa-ghfir lana wa lahu ya Rabba-l-'alamin, wa-fsih lahu fi qabrih, wa nawwir lahu fih.

Translation

"O Allah, forgive so-and-so (naming him), elevate his station among the guided, and succeed him in his offspring among those left behind, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds; and widen his grave and illuminate it for him."
