The letters that are always lightened

What is always lightened (tarqeeq) are the letters of istifaal (lowering) already mentioned in the chapter on the characteristics, with the exception of the alif, the lam and the ra.

Imam Ibn al-Jazari alluded to this with his words:

فرققن مستفلا من أحرف ... وحازرن تفخيم لفظ الألف
