Al-aḍṭbaʿ according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

It is to cast one side of one's cloak over the left shoulder, bring it out beneath the right armpit, and cast the other side over the left shoulder, so that the right shoulder remains uncovered and the left covered by the two sides of the izar. The word is taken from ad-dib', which is the upper arm ('adud), because it remains uncovered.

Al-aḍṭbaʿ according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

In language: an ifti'al form from ad-dib', the upper arm; the word was originally idtaba', then the ta' became ta', giving idtaba'. It is passing the garment of ihram beneath the right shoulder and casting it over the left; it is also called ta'abbu and tawashshuh. 'Idtaba'a ash-shay'': to put it under one's armpit. The idiba' commanded of the one circumambulating the House: to pass the garment under the right armpit and cover the left. One says: 'idtaba'tu bi-thawbi': I wrapped myself in my garment. The word is taken from ad-dib', the upper arm; hence the hadith: 'he (blessings and peace be upon him) circumambulated the House idiba', wearing a green cloak.'

Al-aḍṭbaʿ according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

For the manner of wearing the garment in tawaf: to bring the cloak out from under the right armpit and cast it over the left shoulder, uncovering the right shoulder and covering the left.
