Camels (alwa) hard in disposition, likened to the twisted horn.

Al-ʿaqiṣ according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

'Aqasa the hair: to braid and twist it. Al-'iqas: the thread by which the ends of braids are tied. 'The woman 'aqasat her hair': she stretched, gathered and knotted it at the back of her head. Al-'aqs: binding one's two braids around the head as women do, or gathering the hair and knotting it at the back; all of this is disapproved (makruh) (al-Fa'iq, 3/387; al-Misbah al-Munir, art. 'aqs, p. 160; al-Kifaya, 1/358-359; Nayl al-Awtar, 2/333, 8/8).
