Al-jaʾizaau according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

The gift. Plural: jawa'iz. In the noble hadith: "Hospitality is three days, and its ja'iza (travel gift) is a day and a night, and whatever exceeds that is charity." Meaning: he gives him enough to suffice for a distance of a day and a night, which is the opinion of al-Azharî. And according to Mâlik, he honors him, presents him with gifts, and takes care of him for a day and a night.
