Definition Al-slʿa

Al-slʿa according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

With a kasrah on the sin: a gland that appears between the skin and the flesh, which moves when pressed with the hand. Sil'ah: a name given to all belongings, as it is said. Antarah said: I have never deprived a pious brother of a sil'ah, except that the like of it was guided back to him twofold. Its plural is sila' and sil'at. Al-Zubaydi said: A man's sila' became numerous when his growths multiplied. Al-Mubarrad recited: Sometimes the base person benefits from being treated well, while the noble person declines superfluous gifts. And al-jalb - with a fatha on the jim and the lam -: a verbal noun meaning the imported, and it refers to those who bring provisions and other goods and merchandise for sale. Al-Matla' p. 356 and Ghurar al-Maqalah p. 213.

Al-slʿa according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

An outgrowth that occurs in the neck and moves when moved. Its size ranges from a chickpea to a watermelon.
