Definition Algha

Algha according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

The thing: to annul it. Of the number: to strike it out. Al-laghiyya: frivolity. (plural) al-lawaghi. Al-laghw: speech and the like to which no account is given, from which no benefit nor profit is gained. Speech that bursts from the tongue without its meaning being intended. In the Quran: [al-Ma'ida, 89: 'Allah will not take you to task for the frivolity in your oaths, but He will take you to task for what your hearts have earned of oaths.']
