Definition Al-mqam al-mḥmwd

Al-mqam al-mḥmwd according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

It is the great intercession at the Standing of the Resurrection; it was so named because the first and the last praise him therein when he intercedes for them. It comes indefinite for magnification and veneration, as at-Tayyibi said: as if it said 'a station (maqaman)', that is, a station praised by every tongue; and it comes indefinite out of deference with the Qur'an, in the verse: 'your Lord may raise you to a praiseworthy station (maqaman mahmudan).'
