The verses recited and repeated of the noble Quran: they run from sura al-Baqara to sura Bara'a; it has been said: every sura apart from the long ones (al-tiwal) and apart from those under two hundred verses, and beyond the al-mufassal; the singular is mithna. The whole of the noble Quran, in which the verse of mercy is not paired with the verse of punishment; in the Quran: "Allah has sent down the finest discourse: a Book conformed, repeated, whereat shudder the skins of those who fear their Lord, then their skins and hearts soften to Allah's remembrance: that is Allah's guidance, whereby He guides whom He wills; and whomever Allah leads astray has no guide" (al-Zumar 39:23).
