Definition Al-qraʾa wal-tlawa

Al-qraʾa wal-tlawa according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Of one and the same meaning; one says: 'so-and-so yatlu (recites) God's Book', that is, he reads it and proclaims it. Al-Layth said: tala yatlu tilawa: he read; tilawa is mostly for the Qur'an, though some made it broader than reciting the Qur'an and other things. (Lisan al-'Arab, roots qara'a and tala; al-Mawsu'a al-Fiqhiyya 6/45.)
